Emily Ratajkowski on Falling In Love With Pregnancy, Growing a Family and Dealing with Hair Fall
We spoke to our ambassador during her first pregnancy to find out just what it’s like to be preparing for the biggest role of her life.
“I’ve been falling in love with my new body, it’s crazy to watch it change… I have a new respect for what a woman’s body can do,” Emily Ratajkowski told Kérastase. The actress, designer, model and face of Kérastase is pregnant with her first child, an experience that can feel a little like falling into the unknown. But at Kérastase, the motto for our Genesis range, designed for hair fall, is to “Never Be Afraid of Falling” and Emily is a strong, fearless, woman. “I think you have to learn to just throw all expectations out of the window and just let go and sort of take each day at a time because every woman is different,” she told us of being pregnant. So, with this fearlessness in mind, we spoke to her about the idea of falling (in more ways than one).
On Falling in Love with Family…
Has Emily always wanted a family? “You know I’ve never really understood what it would be like to make a family… Growing a family is an amazing eye-opening experience and I feel really lucky.”
On Falling in Love with My Body…
“[I’m] falling in love with my new body, and how it changes and all the respect I have for it.”
On Falling For the Life Inside Me...
“I used to be one of those people who would watch, you know, baby bump videos where the baby was moving and I was so freaked out by it. But now I have that and it just makes you feel so connected to what’s happening inside of you which is really amazing.
On Falling Short of Expectations...
“You have to learn to just throw all expectations out of the window and just let go and just sort of take each day at a time because every woman is different.”
On Falling Asleep…
“I was sleeping all the time but it’s the best sleep I’ve had in my life.”
On Hair Fall…
"One of the things I’m a little scared of is hair fall.”
I don’t know what motherhood is gonna be like of course because this is my first time and you know, everyone has such different experiences and perspectives so the best thing to do is just kind of trust in the process and take each day at a time and I’m just seeing where this ride takes me.
